Loto Creations is a small business. My name is Kristina and I create all the jewelry you see on this site.  

For years I have used crafting as a way to cope with my anxiety and depression. I’ve finally decided it’s time to share those creations with with world.

What does Loto mean?

Loto is the Spanish translation of the word Lotus. The Lotus Flower grows in the deep mud, far away from the sun. 

The Lotus flower is regarded in many different cultures, especially in eastern religions, as a symbol of purity, enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. Its characteristics are a perfect analogy for the human condition: even when its roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus produces the most beautiful flower.

In 2017 my mental health hit one of its lowest points. I was admitted to Horsham Psychiatric Clinic where I remained in their inpatient facility for about a week. During my stay, I did all kinds of therapy, but the most helpful by far was art therapy. I found myself looking forward to that most. After I was discharged, I continued to make time in my day to day to do my own forms of art therapy. 

Crafting has been a beautiful outlet to help me manage my anxiety and depression. Much like the lotus flower, I found that all the darkness and mud in my life brought me to a place where I was suddenly capable of creating beauty. I pour myself into everything I create because it helps me cope with my troubles, but more importantly it feels good to put something positive out into the world; to spread a little bit of light and hope, one creation at a time.
